Bulle

Bulle was designed as part of a collaborative effort for our second year university project. The team consisted of several Animation and Game Design students working collectively towards a brief.

Mechanics

The primary mechanic was the ability to spawn a bubble, then possess the bubble and control it to acheive certain objectives. The bubble could interact and even carry objects to complete puzzles to progress into the next area.

Custom Art & Animations

Every aspect of 'Bulle' was designed, created and animated from scratch by a very talented team of Animation students. The ambient music was also created by a student.

Design

Drawing inspiration from games such as 'Hollow Knight' and 'Journey' we wanted to create a visual spectacle, combined with an intruiging narrative. By using hand drawn custom artwork for the characters, backgrounds and other assets.

Concepting

The final 'vertical slice' was produced in Unreal Engine 4, and consisted of a short cut scene, an introductory level, some NPC dialogue and a small puzzle sequence utilising the bubble mechanic.
